​Arab countries celebrate Arab Health Day on 4 September annually, marking the anniversary of the establishment of the Council of Arab Health Ministers. The theme of this year's commemoration, "Justice and Sustainability in the Health System in Peace and War," was proposed by the State of Palestine and endorsed by the Council of Arab Health Ministers at its 60th ordinary session, held on 26 May 2024 in Geneva. The celebration of Arab Health Day was first approved by the Council at its 51st ordinary session, convened in February 2019 at the headquarters of the General Secretariat.

​The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, voiced deep concern over the escalating tensions in western Libya, particularly the buildup of military forces near the capital, Tripoli. He stressed that the League is closely following developments, warning that the continuation of this course could risk dragging the country back into conflict, with grave consequences for Libya’s security and unity.
